A letter

There is an interesting letter sent by Edward P. Hackett, from 201 Snyder Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A. to Kitty in Erith, Kent, England. It is dated 1919 and was found in the archive of John C. W. Appleton, it is historically very interesting and has the title:

"Letter From America"

If you wish to read it click on the link above.

Please note!

The "What's New" link above only shows what's new in the genealogy section, not what's in Family Matters.

Introduction

The reason for developing this website was to ensure that the years of research carried out by my sister-in-law, Alison de Dulin regarding our Dulin ancestry, and the mass of information and documents that I inherited from my late cousin John Charles West Appleton, was made available to all that shared our interest. And so we hope that this can be a place to meet nice like minded people who are willing to help each other discover their roots. Below are links to some of the family names on this site:

1. Appleton 2. Bishop 3. Brice  4. de Dulin 5. Dulin

6. Foot 7. Hate 8. Owen 9. Snelling 10. Welling

What became of Fanny Frampton Foot?

Can you shed any light on what became of Fanny Frampton Foot? Fanny was the daughter of Elijah and Fanny Foot (nèe Frampton), she was born in 1892 at Bexley Heath, Kent, England and sadly her mother Fanny died on the 12th September 1892 in The Cottage Hospital, Upton Road, Bexley Heath, Kent, as a result of burns caused by her dress accidentally catching fire. Young Fanny was last found in the 1901 census (RG13/89/144/9) - living in London - aged 9, with her widowed aunt - Annie Meaden (nèe Frampton). If you can help with the story of Fanny's life since 1901 her Foot cousins would be very grateful. Thanks are due to Joanne Webber for her help in our Frampton research.

The development of this section was brought on by more family members moving away, this time to Australia. The distances between us are growing all the time and this fact brought on a strong desire to enable family members to keep in closer contact.
